Performance Line-up Announced For Music and Variety Concert

July 16, 2014

Everybody Has A Story Scheduled for September 20th

16 July 2014 South Bend, Indiana ---  The new group Everybody Has A Story (EHAS) has announced the line-up of music and inspirational speakers for their gala concert, also known as Everybody Has A Story, to be held on September 20, 2014, at the Century Center in downtown South Bend.  Co-hosting the festivities will be writer and musician Mike Ball (Lost Voices; Banjos, Boats & Butt Dialing) and Debra Ann Ball (no relation), an actress turned finance executive. They will introduce a variety of acts to celebrate the South Bend community and raise funds for local charity The 360 Project.

The evening gets rockin’ with two featured performers who are renowned composers -- Kevin Hanlon, a professor at SMU, and Jeff Urband, a music director based in Los Angeles. Offering an interlude of classical elegance will be the Mendoza Guitar Duo (Mendoza Guitar Studio) of master guitarists Dean Wachs and Andy Peck. Contributions from notable local artists include the irresistible Celtic charm of Kennedy’s Kitchen, and the gentler Americana tradition of Judy Berg and Uncle John Potthast. Author and poet Keith Taylor will share a reading to set the mood. Singer-composer Curtis Lord comes home to South Bend from Canada to proffer his original troubadour’s tales.

Not only musical stories, but the personal narratives of remarkable people will be highlighted. Isaac Hunt, who made poor life choices early on but turned his life around and became an admired leader, will share his story. Community activist Becky Eckhard has devoted her life to helping kids and dogs and, along with Gayle Dantzler of the Frantz Fund, will introduce The 360 Project, a group with its own inspiring story. Rounding out the evening will be a rousing multi-voice performance by Together Again Singers, a retrospective of South Bend’s We Together singers of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
